Woodstock Leap Day Wedding – Candice and Jade

I don’t have many words to describe Candice and Jade’s wedding day. It was hectic but full of love and support. Every little detail came together perfectly in the end and, as I hope you can tell from the photos, Candice and Jade were overflowing with love for one another.

Thank you both for inviting me to capture one of your most special days. <3

Woodstock Wedding Photography – Kristen and Tyler

Tyler and Kristen planned an intimate wedding with their closest family in the fall in downtown Woodstock. They were married in Pano Place, a beautiful home-turned-office space located right on Main Street. After a quick round of family photos, we were able to leave and grab some absolutely beautiful photos of just the two of them. Right before heading back to have supper with their guests, Tyler and Kristen headed onto a walking trail beside the Saint John River, to read their vows in private to one another. I stayed back to give them a moment, so only their ears could hear what was said.

Kristen and Tyler gave me full reign on their photos, which was AMAZING. It’s not often as a photographer that you show up to a wedding and they tell you to “go nuts”. I played with a couple different techniques and we made some gorgeous photos together. Hope you love them as much as I do.

Woodstock New Brunswick Wedding – Nic and Kelsey

Nic and Kelsey’s wedding took place on Nic’s parents property on a beautiful Saturday in September. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and every minute of their day was perfect. The two exchanged their vows overlooking the river and spent the afternoon reconnecting with guests who had traveled across the country. There were constant laughs and smiles all around. I have never been to a wedding where I felt more at home. Nic and Kelsey, I hope you enjoy your happily ever after!

Woodstock New Years Eve Wedding – Ben and Brooke

A Winter Wedding with Ben and Brooke

I love spending time with Ben and Brooke. We had a session together a couple years ago and it was a blast. When I found out they were engaged I was so excited! I hoped I would get to work with them again. Sure enough, Brooke was not long in sending me a message about the wedding. We shot their engagement photos and I was looking forward to their New Year’s Eve wedding. Then I found out I was pregnant. I think I gave Brooke fifteen heart attacks. Thankfully, everything worked out, Asher came before the wedding, I had a fantastic helper, and the wedding was perfect. Here is a brief look into Brooke and Ben’s special day.

Special thank you to Brittany for being such an amazing back up for me – I couldn’t have done it without you!

Fredericton Wedding – Kristen and Jeff

An October Fredericton Wedding with Kristen and Jeff

I met with Kristen a few months before the wedding and we instantly clicked. The way she spoke about Jeff made me so excited to see them together. Kristen and Jeff were married on a gorgeous October day surrounded by their family and friends. There are so many moments in this series of photos that show everyone’s excitement and joy.  I love the fall colours that were captured in their couple portraits! Not to mention the awesome white school bus that ferried everyone around all day – best way to travel with a wedding party! Hope you enjoy this snapshot from their day.

Special thanks to my second shooter, Kristen Chisholm for helping me out!

Punta Cana Destination Wedding – Caleb and Michaela

A Destination Punta Cana Wedding with Caleb and Michaela

I’ve said it before, I will say it again: I am HORRIBLE at blogging. So horrible, in fact, that I shot a beautiful destination wedding in Punta Cana over a YEAR AGO and am just now blogging about it. Crazy, am I right? Remember Caleb and Michaela’s beautiful engagement session? This is their wedding that nobody knew about. This wedding wins for fastest ceremony at 15 total minutes, including portraits. To say the experience was a rush is a bit of an understatement! Bonus points to this couple for getting up at the crack of dawn the next morning for photos on the beach – some of these shots are so beautiful I can’t even believe we had a chance to capture them! Hope you enjoy this very belated post as much as I do.

Amanda and Matt – A Hide Away Lodge Wedding

A little over a week ago I got to photograph the wedding of Amanda and Matt, a sweet couple from Ontario. They came to celebrate with their (huge!) families at the Hide Away Lodge at North Lake. We had a great day, that ran a little behind, but everything came together perfectly in the end. I can’t begin to thank them enough for having me along for one of the biggest days in their lives. I know that they are -dying- to see these photos, so without further interruption, here is a sneak peek of the best moments from their day!

The Cold and Wedding Plans – Brightest Dawn Photography

Hello all!

I must say, I have really neglected my blogging as of late. I don’t know where you’re reading from, but if you live in Atlantic Canada you probably know what I mean when I talk about “The Cold” going around. This “cold” has literally plagued everyone I know this winter season, some poor souls have had to deal with it twice. Not cool, cold, not cool.

Drew & Gillian – Halifax Wedding Photography

*Please note that all photos featured in this post were taken by Brightest Dawn Photography while working as an assistant to Tanya Shields*

While at CAT I was able to meet a lot of fantastic people and get inspired by their work. My lighting instructor Liam gave me a great recommendation as Tanya was looking for a second shooter/assistant for the summer. A few Facebook messages and a meeting later and Tanya asked me to tag along and capture Gillian and Drew’s Halifax wedding with her.
