Wow.
I have been silent since March. That is very unlike me, as most of you probably know. But I suppose I had good reasons to be. The past few months have been chopped full of personal changes that undoubtedly impacted every aspect of my life, including Brightest Dawn Photography.
As some of you may know, from reading previous posts or from Facebook or where ever, in April, Craig and I purchased a home together. This is a process that I hope I NEVER have to deal with again! Talk about stress! Thankfully, we were able to purchase our dream home and we couldn’t be happier. I’ve been updating social media semi-regularly with little photo tidbits showing the transformation our house is currently going under. You can see all of those on Instagram, along with photos of me being a weirdo and some behind the scenes type photos (who doesn’t like to see anyone being a weirdo?!) We also had the awesome privilege of having our engagement photos taken in and around our home by the epically talented Heather Wilkinson. It’s so cool that we have them right in the midst of all the crack-filling and painting and I know I have a totally biased opinion, but we are some stinkin’ cute. You should check them out if you’d like to see our home through someone else’s eyes. We are still working very hard to get some very crucial rooms finished, one of which is our office (as I blog from various parts of the house). There will be a lot of fantastic things that come from all of this renovating, but you will have to just keep checking the blog to see what I mean ;).
On top of that – because buying a house isn’t stressful enough – Craig and I were furiously planning our wedding while getting used to this whole ‘paying the mortgage’ and ‘working a lot to pay bills and become stressed when we can’t spend time together’ thing. Not gonna lie, there were some tense moments that resulted in tears shed by yours truly. Thankfully, Craig and I are well attuned to one another and we were able to take *most* moments in stride and move towards starting our life together.
On June 29th, 2013 I married my best friend. Our day was beautiful, perfect, stress-free, and filled with our love for one another. I really couldn’t have asked for any better and I’m so glad we started out our life together on the right foot. I promise I will blog more concerning this topic. I want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy their wedding day as much as we did, so I will be blogging a little bit on how to have a stress free day. P.S., you can view photos from our wedding day here, again, taken by the amazing Heather Wilkinson .
Now life has ‘settled down’ again (which I don’t think life ever really settles down, just changes), I have more time to pursue the other love in my life, my photography work. I’ve picked up my camera more in the past 3 weeks than I think I have in the past six months, and man, it feels good. I’m excited for whats going to come over the next few months and I’m looking forward to sharing it with all of you! Keep checking back here to keep up with all I’m going to do, and I promise to never be so silent again 😉
