I just want to take a quick second to introduce you all to our new puppy(baby), Isis.
I had made up my mind that I really wanted a kitten for my birthday a couple weeks ago. Kittens are easy to come by and I needed someone to talk to during the day so I figured that would be the best solution. The only problem is my dear loving husband hates cats, like, goes out of his way to walk 5 feet around any cat that comes within walking distance kind of hate. He, naturally, wasn’t pleased with the idea.
The same morning I had decided this I was browsing Facebook and all of a sudden a batch of cute *free* puppies ended up on my screen. I follow numerous SPCA pages, so not that out of the ordinary. About an hour later I had a brainwave and sent Craig the link. In the span of about 10 minutes, he called the owner and asked her to save one, requested the following day off work, and I was calling local vets to see about setting up appointments for shots. We drove all the way to Miramichi the very next morning. I don’t know if you have ever driven to Miramichi, but let me tell you it is a long and boring route that features probably a billion speed adjustments. We got there and I proceeded to fall in love. On the way home, she slept first in my arms, then Craig’s and we finally decided that Isis suited her.
A few days later we are both exhausted and I smell like puppy, but I am so happy. Isis is so smart and full of love and has really only pooped on herself once. Craig and I are so excited to have the first addition to our little family. I totally fit the cliché and now have a billion pictures of her on my iPhone, all in multiple stages of blurriness. I will definitely share photos of her as she grows and will continue to be your typical furbaby mom.
