2013 was a huge year, both personally and for my business, and I would like to take a couple minutes to just recap on everything that happened this year.
This past year was the first year of my business. I became a full registered business and officially began this journey. I was so privileged to be a part of so many amazing moments this year in my clients lives. I was able to photograph 10 portrait sessions, which is just mind-blowingly awesome. I watched families play and laugh together, I got to photograph couples loving on each other, and I even got to have a couple of cute pups in front of my lens for a change. Along with these personal sessions, I had the opportunity to team up with the Woodstock Tourism office and was able to take photos at multiple local events. I love event work, and it was especially rewarding to witness the awesome events that this town is able to pull off. This was a quiet wedding year for me (something which I’m looking forward to changing in 2014) but I was able to second shoot 2 beautiful and relaxed weddings with the ever incredible Kandise Brown. I so enjoy working with Kandise and I’m hopeful that I will get to work with her, and perhaps some other industry professionals, in the future.
In my personal life, this year was HUGE! My better half, Craig, and myself finally got to walk down the aisle together this past summer in June. It was a breathtaking experience that I will never forget for as long as I live. I still get giddy sometimes when I remember that it actually happened – I know, total dork. We were also fortunate to find a home that fits our personalities to a T. We traveled to multiple places on the East Coast and have decided that travelling is a must in our lives, so keep an eye out for our adventures this year! I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve danced. I’ve realized that each second is precious and sometimes slowing down to smell the flowers is the most important thing.
I’ve been so blessed this past year and I am so optimistic for the upcoming year. I can’t wait to live, love, and photograph everything. I truly hope that I have the opportunity to work with YOU!
