Hello all!
I must say, I have really neglected my blogging as of late. I don’t know where you’re reading from, but if you live in Atlantic Canada you probably know what I mean when I talk about “The Cold” going around. This “cold” has literally plagued everyone I know this winter season, some poor souls have had to deal with it twice. Not cool, cold, not cool.
I like to think that I am a person who tries to keep themselves healthy – I go to the gym multiple times a week, I eat healthy (with the exception of a peanut buster parfait from DQ from time to time), I sleep A LOT (we’re talking 9 hours a night PLUS a daytime nap), and I try to keep my mentality healthy by hanging out with those I love and reading a good book every once in a while. Let me tell you, this cold has completely ignored all my stay healthy attempts and keeps chasing me down! Living life sick in bed for multiple days in a row reminds how grateful I am that I do only get sick every once in a while, but is also very frustrating for someone who is trying to run their own business, keep track of violin students, work a part-time job AND plan her own wedding.
Obviously some aspects of life, such as blogging, have suffered.
I have good news! I am finally feeling better and I think, hope, and pray that I am finally well and will stay that way. This means to expect more blogging!
Back to the wedding planning thing – I figure, I have a tonne of things to blog about concerning weddings because I am getting married and by golly it’s getting close! Only 4 months and few days away now and I can happily say that working away at planning everything over the past few months has led Craig and myself to this point, the point where we are actually finished planning! Vendors are booked, outfits bought, flowers ordered. The only real remaining task is to finish up payments on things. Man, it feels good. Any potential brides – please, don’t leave everything to the last minute if you don’t want to be a little stress ball the entire time leading up to the big day. Book in advance and enjoy yourself as you get closer to your wedding day!
Our day is going to be simple and focused on our love for each other. I am a huge lover of the colour purple, and, because Craig loves me and is very good at not being selfish, we are having ombre purple accents throughout our day. I can’t get over ombre. I have a problem.
Here are some DIY tissue-fluff-ball-things that I made a little while that now reside in my bedroom. More to be made, in various shades of purple, obviously.
I think they’re cute and I’m thinkin’ that having them hang throughout the church is gonna look BOSS.
I also caved and bought a little birdcage from Michael’s for any cards we receive. I thought that at first these were a little cheesy, but I think this one is just small enough to not draw too much attention to itself. I plan on tying a big bow around it with a beautiful purple ribbon and including a handwritten card that says “cards” (original, eh).
Finally. What am I wearing on my feet? One of the most important questions it seems. I don’t know how well you as an audience knows me, but if you know me even a little bit you’ll probably know that I am ridiculously practical and I can pretty much count on one hand the number of times I’ve worn heels and it worked out. I would love to have a beautiful pair of heels that accentuates me in my dress and are the most delightful shade of purple, but realistically, that just isn’t me. So, heels are out. Converse are in. I am confident that I will be able to enjoy having my photos done because my feet won’t be aching, nor will I be sinking into the ground. And if I need to run away, I will be able to… KIDDING! Best part, I already own these beauties.
If you enjoy reading about my slightly different view on weddings, keep checking back. I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna probably be a pretty hot topic over the next couple of months. ; )
