Planning, Proposals, More Planning – Brightest Dawn Photography

So I’d like to take some time today to let you know what I’ve been up to, some major positive changes, and what’s to come!

As some of you may know, I spent the last two weeks at home in Woodstock with my family and fiance due to it being a break between semesters. I can not begin to express how needed that break was! Sometimes just sitting at home with your dog can be the absolute best remedy for stress. The first week I was there wasn’t actually much like that at all, my youngest sister had her prom and graduation and boy, were we busy!! Shannon was absolutely radiant on her prom day and I was so proud to be there watching her and her date soak up the attention. Graduation was no different, and even though it was probably 100 degrees in that arena, I would sit through it all over again just to see her smile with her diploma. I know, I know, I’m a sap.

Another special occasion over the break was the celebration of my parents 25th wedding anniversary. My parents are so awesome and I am so glad that through their marriage they’ve showed to myself and my sisters how important love and friendship is. I was able to snap a couple quick shots of them before my sisters graduation as they haven’t had photos done in forever! I love them. Added to that, myself and Craig were able to nail down a few more details for our own wedding next summer.

Now, sadly, my break is over and I’m back at school. This semester is going to be crazy as we are working on our two final portfolios so that once we’re finished we’re able to show the public just what we’re able to do. I’m really excited about my recently written proposals so I’ll share what I’m planning! For my specialized portfolio I’ve decided to do a black and white portfolio full of wedding photos. I don’t think I mentioned it before, but I have the amazing privilege of working with Tanya of Tanya Shields Photography this summer as a second shooter for her weddings! I can’t even begin to describe to you how much of an amazing opportunity this is for me and the final portfolio will be the time for you to all see what I’ve been able to do with it. In the meantime, you can check out Tanya’s website at http://www.tanyashields.com/ and admire her wonderful stuff!

My second portfolio is going to focus a little more on family portraiture. As many of you might be able to tell, my family is important to me, and I want to be able to create portraits for other families who value their families as much as mine! I’m hoping to include images of kids, grads, couples, and family portraits (PSST If you/your family need photos done, look me up 😉 in their life settings being happy with each other.

I’m really excited for both of these and I can’t wait to share them with all of you! Keep checking back for updates. Don’t forget to check the blog lots next week – there are A LOT of things going on! 🙂
